I got back from Boracay yesterday afternoon. I was there with friends just for the weekend. I was there with my whole family six months ago (April) and I’m really thankful I got to visit again. Boracay is one of my favorite places here in the Philippines. I haven’t been to a lot of places here in the P.I. (YET) but I intend to visit as many Philippine tourist spots as I can. Our country is indeed beautiful. Despite everything, we are still blessed. Thank you Jesus.
Everyday, I talk to God. I talk to Him in my mind all the time. I thank Him for everything—from the littlest things to the biggest ones. I thank Him even for the things that may seem very shallow for some. Every time I have breakfast, I thank Him for the food on the table, for the hands that prepared them, for the roof on top of our heads, for my family whom I wake up with every morning. When I take a bath, I thank God for the clean water coming out of the faucet and for the toiletries and being able to purchase them. When I dress up, I thank Him for the clothes that keep us comfortable and protected, and so on. It goes on, it never ends. Because His blessings never end. God is so good, so awesome, it makes me cry sometimes. It makes me cry out of shame—for the times when I am selfish and unkind; it makes me cry out of awe that He loves us despite ourselves.
My most recent trip to Boracay was rather short but I relished every moment of it without skipping a beat. The weather was awesome: sunny and windy at the same time. The scenery was as usual, breathtaking. When I was there I couldn’t help but miss my parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins, because last summer we were there for a whole week and the experience was just so memorable! So yes, my most recent trip was quite nostalgic but refreshing at the same time.
I got to try something new like the ZORB. It’s the newest adventure in Boracay. In a nutshell, you go inside a ball and then they roll you downhill. Sounds crazy but it was fun! I’m a huge sucker for all things new, fun, adventurous and worthwhile—meaning something you’ll learn from. I’m a big fan of learning, no matter what the form. So aside from that new experience, we went all out in our eating sessions. Kumbaga, hindi namin tinipid. :) If there’s one thing I would never feel bad about splurging on it would be food. We ate to our hearts’ and tummies’ content (Thank you Pao for the treat!) and I thanked Jesus for that opportunity. We really enjoyed it :)
As our Boracay weekend getaway was about to end, I really couldn’t help but thank God for EVERYTHING. Really just EVERYTHING. I thanked Him for our safety, I thanked Him for good friends who gave such good company and whom I shared lots of smiles and heartwarming laughter with. I thanked Him for Mikki who is my best friend, too. I thanked Him for the safe flight, land and water transfers; I thanked Him for the means, the resources—I was able to provide for myself financially because He provided for me and I was able to enjoy the trip without asking anything from my parents aside from their permission and blessing. I thanked Him for good health, not just mine but my friends’ too. Because of that we were able to enjoy the quick escapade to the full.
My weekend was truly blessed and I just had to share these things because it is my heart’s overflow. Our Father is so good I just had to say it out “loud”.
Thank you Jesus! You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! My security is in You alone and not in the things of this world. I love you Papa Jesus :)
P.S. I can’t believe I got to write again. Yay!
P.P.S. I will share photos of our trip soon!
P.P.P.S. Not that it’s a big deal but 423 followers—I’m not sure what that is about—but thank youuu, you guys :)
P.P.P.P.S. (OK, this is too much. Last one, promise!) Happy happy birthday to my lovey, Aizza! God bless you and your beautiful soul. You are one of God’s gifts to me. Thank you for being the friend that you are. I love you, enjoy your day :)
